Please help us celebrate the ribbon-cutting of our new passenger elevator Thursday May 26th at Orange Innovation Center, 131 West Main Street, Orange, MA
5-6PM WELCOME RECEPTION in the 3rd floor Gallery
Business networking hour with food, beverages, live acoustic music
6PM Official Elevator RIBBON-CUTTING CEREMONY with invited guests including:
MA State Senator Stephen M. Brewer, and other dignitaries.
To follow, a brief thank you to all those who have supported O.I.C.’s efforts to provide improved accessibility and a sustainable platform for regional economic development.
1. Making it in Massachusetts - OIC chose local vendors to manufacture the new elevator (Gillespie Corp. of Ware, MA) and for installation (Independent Elevator of Shutesbury, MA) instead of choosing multi-national vendors. Although more expensive, we believe that the quality and durability of Gillespie’s heavier-duty mechanism, stainless steel car interior and their dedicated local service and support will prove to be a wise long-term investment.
2. It’s a Green Machine – Every component was carefully chosen, from vegetable oil based hydraulics, low-wattage LED lighting, High-Voltage energy efficient drive, low VOC paints and non-formaldehyde gassing stainless steel interior to make OIC’s new elevator one of the greenest machines in Western MA.
3. Importance of providing accessibility to upper floors of historic manufacturing buildings - Without the income from leasing upper floors, older buildings will quickly fall into disrepair, deteriorate; and ultimately becoming an eyesore and burden to public safety. O.I.C. has re-purposed the historic Minute Tapioca-Bedroom Factory; creating a sustainable 21st Century use for the 35+ businesses already located here; supporting North Quabbin micro and small business growth, and significant new job creation for our region.
We do Hope you will join us,
Best Regards - Noel Vincent – www.orange-innovation.org
Then, Saturday June 4th we'll have an OIC Marketplace OPEN HOUSE with lawn events, live music, WJDF, etc. geared more toward the general public and families; featuring OIC MARKETPLACE businesses from HONEYOGA to The Maple Grove Farmhouse Bakery, and everything in between including NQ Food Co-Op, Bohemian Kitchen & Café, Eagle Peak Fitness, Amber Bloom Flowers & Gifts, Silverlace Treasures Jewelry, Party Central, American Renaissance Creations, Hog Tooth Knives, Massage by Aleshia, etc. A big Par-Tay!
